Detailed Profile

Paul Levick is a senior Midlands Plastic Surgeon and has specialised in Cosmetic Surgery at The BMI Priory Hospital, Birmingham since 1984 and now also works at Dolan Park Hospital, Bromsgrove. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) of Edinburgh and England and a member of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS). Paul has a national media coverage including main channel news, BBC “Your Life in Their Hands”, “Women’s Hour”, “The Today Programme” and numerous other main channel programmes and newspaper articles.

Paul graduated from Charing Cross Hospital and attained training to his Fellowships in General Surgery, Paediatric, Vascular Surgery and Urology before undergoing his Specialist Plastic Surgery training at Odstock Hospital, Salisbury. He also carried out a research thesis and obtained his Master of Surgery degree; and currently assists research into breast augmentation, fat and skin pathology.

Paul Levick came to the Midlands in 1984 to be a Consultant Plastic, Burns and Trauma Surgeon at the Birmingham Accident Hospital and worked there in the NHS until 1993. During this time he started regular general plastic surgery clinics and operating lists at Selly Oak Hospital which has now become the major centre for Plastic Surgery in the Midlands. His other achievements at the Birmingham Accident Hospital included the commencement of Laser treatment of red birthmarks, microvascular reconstructive surgery and the formation of Europe’s first skin culture laboratory for burns.

In 1988 he was co-founder of the ‘Bright Eyes’ Charity (1000604) which has treated more than 350 children from overseas with reconstructions for burns and trauma, usually caused by warfare. Thanks to the generosity of the BMI Priory Hospital he is able to carry out this charity work with no medical or hospital fees and this work continues. ‘Bright Eyes' has also organised surgical teams to operate in Sri Lanka, Pakistan, India and Romania.

Paul Levick enjoys teaching both nurses and junior surgeons in addition to hosting Consultants from the UK and overseas and often visits other surgeons to exchange techniques and refinements.

He is very fortunate to have two secretaries, Julie Hill and Lesley Eastwood with Gail Levick as Practice Manager; and this worthy trio organise his life making sure it runs smoothly. Paul greatly enjoys golf, gardening and woodwork, but not as much as surgery - and he has no plans to retire!
